The Texas Foster Youth Justice Project provides free and confidential legal assistance to current foster youth and those who have aged out of foster care. We can help you with legal issues related to being in foster care and successfully transitioning out of foster care.

• You have the right to attend your court hearings and speak to the judge.
• You have the right to a Texas identification card, SS card, and birth certificate when you are 16 years old.
• You have the right to stay in foster care or return to foster care after you turn 18.
• You have the right to visit and have contact with your siblings.
• You have the right to send and receive unopened mail.
• You have the right to benefits and servicesfor aged out foster youth.
• You have the right to report abuse, neglect, or
• exploitation without fear of punishment or
• retaliation.
