A proven leader in providing healthy meals to older adults, Meals on Wheels San Antonio was awarded a major contract by the city’s Department of Human Services to serve approximately 700,000 meals a year and up to 2,700 meals daily to adults 60 years and older in San Antonio’s neighborhood senior centers starting in January.

HOW DOES COMFY CASAS HELP OUR SENIORS?
We provide minor home repairs and various home appliances to low-income seniors and disabled adults. These essential visits enable us to identify home safety needs. The coordinator conducts an initial walk-through in person or over the phone to discuss much-needed repairs.
One of the easiest things we can do is make sure the temperature in our clients' homes is seasonally appropriate. So that means providing ACs and heaters to ensure our clients stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Emergency Meals
We provide meal packages to the seniors, older adults, and disabled homebound neighbors. These packages contain shelf stable food items and are meant to address: immediate relief of hunger & potential disruptions to regular meal delivery, such as weather. We supply meals to new clients who are in need of an immediate food source. Emergency meals are also delivered quarterly to all meal recipients in anticipation of inclement weather.
